Working with other healthcare organisations

We work with a network of organisations to ensure that we have access to a broad range of information on foundation trust performance and receive expert advice.

Working and sharing information with other organisations means foundation trusts can spend less time responding to similar requests, it supports a proportionate, risk-based approach and ensures Monitor has a full picture of how they are performing. Monitor may also ask for advice on clinical issues from other organisations.

We work closely with the following organisations:

We work with local healthcare organisations such as strategic health authorities and primary care trusts and other commissioners.  For example, commissioners are encouraged to contact us if they have significant concerns about the performance of a foundation trust that they have not been able to resolve locally.

We also hear from other stakeholders such as voluntary organisations or clinicians who may have specific concerns about a foundation trust.

We encourage stakeholders to contact us if they consider that a foundation trust is at risk of breaching its terms of authorisation.
